Architectural Description

The architectural complex built in 1939 has a U plan and stands for two floors (ground floor and firs flor). The building has no significant architectural value.

History and Historical Context

According to the decision of Kastela farmers, Kastela's winemakers - winemakers, a building was built, which housed a winery for the purchase of grapes, grape processing and wine production and storage in barrels.

Values of the Building

Capacity of wine cellar and barrels: 22 wooden barrique barrels - 5,000 liters and 20 stainless steel barrels 18,000 liters.

Description of the Urban Context and Development

The Cooperative purchases grapes from Kastela's winemakers, most of them older-aged winemakers (who fail to follow the rules and procedure of wine branding). The Cooperative processes grapes produces wine and stores it in barrels. Barrel wine is bottled and sold to restaurants and hotels.

New Cultural Tourist Offer Focused on Selected Building/Site

The desire of the Cooperative is to arrange a wine tasting room in the northern cellar in order to organize various events to taste the wine with special emphasis on the old Croatian autochthonous variety - crljenak.
